Upcoming Programs

English Language & U.S. Culture Program

The English Language & US Culture program will include an online component during the summer 2021 semester and an on-site component in the fall 2021 semester. This program is for undergraduate students with intermediate English proficiency (B1 or higher). This program is not suitable for students with beginning level English proficiency.

Throughout the online program, participants will improve their communicative English skills, while learning more about U.S. culture.  Students will work through content modules asynchronously while participating in several weekly synchronous class sessions. Each student will receive individualized feedback on their English language skills, such as pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary from a UNC Charlotte instructor. Additionally, the program will include language and culture exchange with UNC Charlotte students.  Students will be matched with language partners, who will communicate with them throughout the course.

The on-site portion will consist of daily English instruction, guest lectures, site visits to cultural and historical sites, cultural activities, and interaction with the students' language partners. The on-site portion will provide the students with the opportunity to use their newly honed English skills in authentic situations and engage with the culture first-hand.

Online portion - July 19 - August 13, 2021
On-site portion - August 21 - 28, 2021
Online portion - US$1,500
On-site portion - US$2,200

Sign up for both & save! US$3,200

*Note: You can choose only to sign up for the online program, but cannot sign up just for the on-site program.
